Nona Faye Hutchinson, 83 of Stamford, formerly of Knox City passed away Thursday, March 2 in Stamford. Her Family will receive guests Friday, March 3, from 6-7 pm at the Kinney Underwood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Nona’s life will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday, March 4 at St. John’s Methodist Church with Pastors Paul Wright and Steve Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Knox City Cemetery. Nona was born September 4, 1939, in Abilene, Texas, the daughter of Gene and Jeane Thompson Blackley. She married Wayne Hutchinson on December 23, 1961, in Abilene. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2000. Nona graduated from Wylie High School and later attended LVN School in Stamford receiving her nursing li- cense. She worked in the healthcare profession for 35 years, 25 of those years as a nurse. Nona was a member of St. John’s Methodist Church and The Eastern Star. She served as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader. She also enjoyed watching crime shows on television, reading and working in her yard. She was well known for her “World’s Best Chicken and Dumplings”. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers-in-law, Joe Schulle and Weldon Hutchinson; brother and sister-in-law Ed and Melba Parr; and niece, Tana Schulle. Left to cherish her memories are her children, Cleveland Charles “Chuck” Hutchinson and wife Beth of Humble, Mindy Vance of Stamford and Wayne Eugene Hutchinson and wife Kelly of Stamford; stepdaughter, Connie Snyder and husband John of Abilene; grandchildren, Krystal Hawkins and husband Jack of Midland, Cameron Hutchinson and wife Joanna of Piedmont, OK, Peter Hagmann of New York, Ryne Hagmann and wife Maddie of Dallas, Tayler Vance of Stamford, Tanner Vance and wife Brenley of Chandler, AZ, Hagen Hutchinson of Wichita Falls, Wes Hutchinson and fiancée Emily Dyes of Stamford; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Kodi, Chris, Carter, Kane, Stone, Emily, Eden, and Ellie; two sisters, Linda Schulle of Abilene and Llana Hoffman and husband Steve of Fort Worth; sister-in-law Ila Kay Gross and husband George of Knox City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
