In Loving Memory, Michael Earl Gray June 11, 1959 - May 16, 2023

Michael Earl Gray, 63, of Midland, formerly of Stamford, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in Midland. Michael’s wish was to be cremated. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home, 210 South Ferguson, Stamford. Michael was born June 11, 1959, in Stamford, Texas to Cletus Earl and Wanda Nell (Lindsey) Gray. Michael graduated from Stamford High School in 1977. He worked many years as a welder, farmer, and rancher, but his true passion for the past 20 years was caring for babies as a NICU Nurse in Odessa. Michael received his LVN certification in 2001, following in the footsteps of two generations of nurses: his mother, Wanda, and grandmother, Nellie Lindsey. Michael loved the outdoors and adored his two dogs, Savannah and Jax. Always working with his hands to build or improve, he could fix anything and loved the challenge. He loved to travel, find new foods and restaurants, and would always ask for the recipe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cletus Earl Gray and Wanda Nell (Lindsey) Gray; grandparents, JD and Gladys Gray, and Arvin and Nellie Lindsey; aunts, Margaret Richardson and Frieda Gray; and uncles, James Gray, Hollis Lindsey, and Kenneth Lindsey. He is survived by his wife, Candice Voake, of Midland; daughter, Summer Hanson and husband, Tyler, of Dallas; son, Dakota Gray and wife, Paige, of Dallas; stepdaughter, Cassidy Voake of Midland; brothers, Monte Gray of Midland, and Marc Gray and wife, Meredith of Weatherford; aunts, Barbara Gray Roseberry, Eva Gray Thetford, Nell Gray Eoff, and Linda Lindsey Boone; uncle, Burt Gray; and grandchildren, Knox and Sutton Hanson, of Dallas.
