A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Hamlin, TX for Kody J. Whitworth, 45, who passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Abilene, TX. The Rev. Russ Ponder will preside. Arrangements were entrusted to Tankersley Funeral Home, Stamford, TX. The son of Brent and Brenda (Williams) Whitworth, Kody Jay was born on June 6, 1978 in Wichita Falls, TX. Kody was a graduate of Stamford High School and a proud Bulldog fan. On January 10, 2005, Kody and Miss Alyssa Campbell were united in marriage in Anson, TX. As a parent, Kody supported his children in their personal and school activities. He was instrumental in his job at Duggan’s Auto Supply with a wealth of car knowledge as a parts specialist, working there since 2012. He was a devoted lifetime Stamford resident who dedicated 11 years of service to the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department. Throughout his life, Kody answered the call whenever someone asked for his help. Kody will be missed by many due to the numerous acts of kindness he extended to others. Kody is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.T. Whitworth, Golda Whitworth, Dorothy Williams, and Lewis Williams. Survivors include: his wife, Alyssa Campbell of Stamford; 6 children, Brandon Campbell of Stamford, Tyler Whitworth of Stamford, Skyler Rose Ryen of Arkansas, Haley Pickeral of Maryland, Justin Pickeral of Maryland, and Sarah Luckett of Iowa; parents, Brent Whitworth and wife Shonna of Jarell, Brenda Perez and husband Stephen of Oklahoma; brother, Daniel Whitworth and wife Cindi of Abilene, and numerous other relatives and friends.
