James Edward Hill

James Edward Hill 84, of Stamford gained his heavenly wings Saturday, June 19, 2021 at his home. Funeral service was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 22 in the Kinney-Underwood Funeral Chapel with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating. Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Cemetery directed by Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. James was born November 2, 1936 in Stamford to the late E.P. “Charlie” and Ethel Hill. He was a lifetime resident of Stamford. He married Joyce Green May 31, 1968 in Stamford. She passed away April 12, 2005. James worked as a mechanic alongside Kenneth at Hill Top Garage for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Church. James enjoyed regular trips to Wal-Mart and playing dominoes at the VIP Center. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sisters Nelda Johnson, Bonnie Tabor, Thelma Dalton; brother Richard Green and son Eddie Ford. James is lovingly survived by Kenneth and Vicki Elkins, Michael Elkins, Brooke Elkins, Zak Elkins, Linda Green, Robert and Sheila McEwen, David and Sondra McEwen, Cheryl and Bitty Goodman, Mo and Inette Green and Mark and Laura Green, Bobby and Sandra Hill, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
