March 8, 2012 - June 14, 2021

Olivia Grace Chapman, 9, of Stamford, passed into the loving arms of Jesus Monday, June 14, 2021. A graveside service was held Thursday, June 17, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Highland Memorial Cemetery. A celebration of life service followed at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Church in Stamford, with Dr. Robert Wingrove officiating, under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home. Olivia Grace was born March 8, 2012 in Bridgeport, Texas to the union of Robert Ardle and Holly Elizabeth Gilliam Chapman. The family moved to Stamford from Levelland in 2016 and are members of Trinity Church. Olivia was a student at Oliver Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, George Chapman and Tommy Finley. Those left to cherish her memory are her parents Robert and Holly Chapman; sisters Hilaria, Jazzy and Roxie; and brother Aiden “AJ”, all of Stamford; grandparents Bill and Sandy Taber of Stamford, Larry and Suzanne Gilliam of Lubbock, Michael and Trina Walton of Lubbock, and Lora Perkins of Wetumka, OK; great-grandparents John Perkins of Elgin, OK, and Carlton and Cleda Gilliam of Mineral Springs, AR; aunts and uncles Thomas and Amy Chapman of Kingwood, Chris and Stephanie Gilliam of Runaway Bay, Adam Walton and Abby Walton of Lubbock; Duane and Becky Thomas and other great-aunts, uncles, and cousins; special caregiver Candy Flint. Olivia spoke without using words. Her life told the story of God’s love and grace—for her and for each person who crossed her path. She is a precious daughter who taught her mama and daddy how to trust God, how to endure, and how to find joy, even in struggle. She is a cherished sister who softened her siblings’ hearts toward Jesus. She is a beloved first granddaughter, perfect in Gammie’s eyes. She found a place in the hearts of countless family members, friends, and people she never had a chance to meet. Olivia’s life was a window that offered a glimpse of the goodness of God, if only a person would stop to look closely enough. Olivia won. She is in Heaven with Jesus, and her story continues to point to Him.
