Emilia Ramona Alvarado April 5, 1933 - December 27, 2021
Emilia Ramona Alvarado 88, of Stamford passed away Monday, December 27 in an Abilene Hospital. Rosary was said at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 29th in the Kinney- Underwood Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass was at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 30th in the St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Joseph Kurumbel officiating. Burial followed in the Highland Memorial Cemetery. Emilia was born April 5, 1933 in Seguin, Texas to the late Pedro Rubio and Julia Ramirez Rubio. She married Miguel Alvarado on October 28, 1956 in Cameron, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 28, 2006. They lived in Stamford for 57 years. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church and enjoyed her women’s group. Emilia loved her family, enjoying family get-togethers, cooking and supporting her children and grandchildren in all their events. She also enjoyed dancing, gardening and listening to Mariachi music. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Augustine Alvarado, a brother Primitivo Rubio; sisters Thomasa Meza, Delma Sanchez and Petra Rubio; half-brothers Sostenes Rubio and Pete Rubio. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Modesta Ramos of Stamford, Julie Alsides and John of Brownwood, Petra Alvarado and Joe Hernandez of Stamford, Emilia Hernandez and Carlos of Stamford and Ramona King of Killeen; brothers Coronado Rubio of Baytown, Ramiro Rubio of Dickerson, Rudy Rubio of Dickerson, Eliborio Rubio of California and Quinto Rubio of Rockdale; Sisters Gloria Flores of Rockdale and Julia Rubio also of Rockdale; Grandchildren Miguel Alvarado, Chris Lopez, Yvonne Lopez, Angel Alvarado, Crystal Strand, Isabel Alvarado, Cristian Pachicano, Raquel Pachicano, Stephanie Alsides, Angela Alsides, Johnny Alsides, Lupe Alvarado, Priscilla Alvarado, Victoria Alvarado, Cruz Hernandez, Michael Hernandez, Daniella Alvarado, Marissa Hernandez, Joseph Hernandez, Augustine Alvarado, Miranda Alvarado, Austin Alvarado, Aggassi Hernandez, Alek Hernandez, Anna Alvarado, Christina Pilson, Veronica Stapleton, Nicholas King; Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
